Behind the scenes of ‘The Magic Flute’, Frances Stark

Winner of the Absolut Art Award in 2015, Frances Stark (born 1967 in California) is a multidisciplinary artist whose work is based on a reflection on the use and meaning of language. As part of this prestigious award for artists to enable them to achieve a “dream project”, she chose to adapt Mozart’s Flûte enchantée in the form of a film (110mn), the first of which took place at LACMA (Los Angeles County Museum of Art) on April 28th. Hot encounter with an artist firmly committed to decompartmentalizing disciplines and pushing the boundaries of art.
